Upper West Side Apartment

This compact Upper West Side apartment honors its pre-war bones while creating a thoroughly contemporary home. Custom walnut millwork—including a credenza, shelving, and integrated dining nook—provides both storage and sculptural presence. The kitchen centers on a Silver Roots marble island that anchors the space.

We worked with the client to build an art collection mixing vintage Swedish, American, and Brazilian ceramics with French paintings and sculpture. Rich textures—velvets, linens, textured wools—add warmth against the neutral palette. Natural light from expansive windows activates the materials throughout the day.
